Said the 2007 Shelby GT500 will light up the tires in first and second gear.  The horsepower rating has not been finalized but we know that six months ago, we were told "at least 450" from the supercharged Shelby GT500.  According to Jay in this month's SVTOA magazine, they have upped the power even more.  I'd guess that they want to tell GM to stuff it by at least meeting the 2006 Corvette's 505 HP. Idea today is to pick up a well used 1994 or 1995 Ford Mustang GT, give it a few suspension parts and run it in open track events.  Done so with my Ford Mustang Cobra but don't want to harm the car. Trying to data log the air fuel ratio and RPMs on my Mustang Cobra today.  This has been a desire for about 9 months now but tooooooo many other things keep coming up.  The RPM signal is not real clean so I may have to wire in a tach adapter to Ford's computer.  After this, I will make some runs and save them so I can tune the factory computer after I add a cat back and air filter. What a fun machine!  And just think, with a simple pulley change, handheld tuner, airfilter and aftermarket cat-back, this car will gain about 80 HP and 120 ft/lbs of torque. Contains great parts: Canfield heads, Jessel rocker system, Ford Racing block, etc.  Estimated to put out around 700 HP, this thing will rock.  However, he is selling it to pay for his newest car, a 1972 Buick GS with a 455.
