According to the chief engineer for SVT, Jay O'Connel, the 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be a real animal - fastest Mustang ever! Said the 2007 Shelby GT500 will light up the tires in first and second gear. The horsepower rating has not been finalized but we know that six months ago, we were told "at least 450" from the supercharged Shelby GT500. According to Jay in this month's SVTOA magazine, they have upped the power even more. I'd guess that they want to tell GM to stuff it by at least meeting the 2006 Corvette's 505 HP. Can't wait till next June for the release of the 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500!
